World models have mostly been used to generate games, video and robot training scenes.
But SKY-001 released a world model for solving engineering design: it turns 1 photo of an engine or car into a full tree of parts, plus the step-by-step sketches that build each one.
Skyfall AI says a specialist world model beats the strongest general LLM on CAD and floor-plan design cost by 150x to 185x while matching its accuracy.
It takes an image of a product, unfolds it into a tree of assemblies and parts, then predicts the sketch-and-operation sequence that builds each part.
Two models share the work. A Hierarchical Composer decides what the object is made of, one level at a time.
A Construction World Model rolls out each leaf part as ordered visual states: the solid after each operation, plus the 2D sketch that turns one state into the next.
From a single photo of a VMS-85 engine, the composer produced a five-level part tree, down to sleeves and shafts hidden inside housings.
