从零研究机器学习:一位 Reddit 用户的学习路线与社区求助
Researching from scratch! [R]
Hey everyone!
I am trying to go really deep into Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Not just learning how to use the latest models and frameworks, but understanding how we reached here from the ground up. So I am thinking to start a series where I go all the way back to electricity, transistors, logic, and computation. Then gradually move through computers, algorithms, statistics, machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, LLMs, agents, and the latest developments in AI.
The goal is not to study everything so deeply that it takes years. It is more about understanding each layer enough to answer:
“Why does this work, and how did we reach from here to there?”
I am doing this because I am trying to find my niche and figure out what I actually want to research in AI.
But I don’t want to do this alone in my room. I want to do it in public. I want to share what I learn, document the questions where I get stuck, discuss ideas with people who know more than me, and hopefully find other people who are interested in going down the same rabbit hole.
I know this is a bit of a moonshot.
But maybe, while doing this, we can find a question worth researching or even an idea that can create some real impact.
So I want to ask for some advice on how and where I should actually do this.
Should I create my own blog or website and publish everything there? If I do that, how can I attract people to it and build a community around it?
Or should I start somewhere where people are already there, like X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Substack, Medium, or any other community, and build an audience there first?
If you were starting something like this today, where would you do it and why?
And if you think this whole approach is flawed, I would also love to hear that.
