I believe the scenario outlined by Sam Altman is unrealistic and will not come to pass. No one would entrust an AI with overall political responsibility solely based on the belief that it is intelligent enough to make the right decisions- especially not when that intelligence is no longer understood.

While the consequences would indeed be difficult to foresee, that is precisely why the scenario is unlikely.
