Advancing AI capabilities have immediate implications for cybersecurity. We recently shared research demonstrating that AI agents are making rapid progress on realistic attack scenarios. Today, we’re sharing a blog post authored in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) that explores the other side of this equation: how could AI deliver game-changing improvements for defence?

The blog covers how defenders can use AI to scale and accelerate their work in three ways: system hardening, improving threat detection and investigation, and automating mitigation and response. We describe how organisations can build foundations now that will help retain a defender advantage as AI capabilities improve.
